Arranged and taught by Ustaz Indra Sahib, this class is meticulously designed for students who wish to gain a clear, profound understanding of how the Holy Book was preserved and how to recite it beautifully and correctly.
📖 About the Course
This course guides students through the majestic history of the Qur’an, from the moment of divine revelation to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, its meticulous compilation during the golden eras of Sayyidina Abu Bakr al-Ṣiddīq and Sayyidina Uthman ibn Affan, all the way to its rigorous transmission and recitation today.
Alongside the historical context, students will build a rock-solid foundation in Tajwīd rules and the science of Qirā’āt.

The curriculum is divided into 9 structured modules spanning historical preservation and practical recitation rules:

| 2 | History of the Compilation | Why the Qur’an was not compiled into one muṣḥaf during the time of Rasulullah ﷺ, and the compilation during the time of Caliph Abu Bakr al-Ṣiddīq. |
| 3 | The Uthmani Muṣḥaf | Why Zayd ibn Thābit was chosen, the Qur’an during the time of Khalifah Uthman ibn Affan, the number of Uthmani muṣḥafs, their completion, and benefits. |
| 4 | Qirā’āt & Transmission | The seven aḥruf, history of writing Tajwid and Qirā’t, differences between them, meanings of Qirā’āt, Riwāyah, and Ṭarīq, the 10 Imams, and Qiraat Imam ‘Asim. |
| 5 | Rasm Uthmani & Writing | Stages of writing the Qur’an according to the Uthmani script, and the difference between Muṣḥaf ‘Uthmānī and Rasm ‘Uthmānī. |
| 6 | Tajwid Foundations | Definition of Tajwīd, rulings of learning Tajweed, pillars of Qur’anic recitation, levels/methods of recitation, and common mistakes. |
| 7 | Letters, Makhārij & Ṣifāt | Vowel marks (al-ḥarakāt), nuqaṭ i‘jām, definitions of makhraj al-hurūf (‘ām and khāṣ), makhraj muḥaqqaq and muqaddar, and characteristics of letters. |
| 8 | Practical Tajwid Rules | al-isti‘ādhah, basmalah, nūn sākinah and tanwīn (iẓhār, idghām, iqlāb, ikhfā’), rules of mīm sākinah, nūn and mīm with shaddah, and ruling of lām ta‘rīf. |
